A Veterinary Hospital Rooted in Jacksonville
Cowford Veterinary Hospital is a new, locally owned practice opening this November in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded by Dr. Chris Reinhardt, DVM, who serves as owner and medical director, our hospital was built on a simple idea: pets and their families deserve a veterinary team that knows them, listens to them, and treats every visit as more than just an appointment. As a locally owned and operated animal hospital, we have the flexibility to focus entirely on what matters most, the health and comfort of the pets in our care.
We proudly serve pet parents throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding 32226 area, including Oceanway, New Berlin, Dinsmore, and River City Marketplace, along with families from Yulee and the coastal communities near Fort George Island and Big Talbot Island. Whatever corner of Northeast Florida you call home, our team is here to be a trusted partner in your pet's health.
The Story Behind the Name
Cowford was named in honor of the historical name for the city of Jacksonville, a nod to the area's history and its local waterways. The name reflects our commitment to being a genuine part of this community, not just a business within it.
We believe good veterinary care starts with genuine attention, not a rushed checklist. Every visit to Cowford Veterinary Hospital begins with real conversation, giving us a clear picture of your pet's history, lifestyle, and any concerns you may have before we ever begin an exam. From there, we combine modern diagnostics with thoughtful, individualized care planning, so the recommendations we make are grounded in both science and a genuine understanding of your pet.
Our Approach to Care
We believe pet parents deserve clear answers, not medical jargon. Our team takes the time to explain what we are seeing, what it means, and what your options are, so you can make confident decisions about your pet's care.
What guides our approach:
- Unhurried appointments that prioritize real conversation
- Individualized care plans built around your pet's history and lifestyle
- Modern diagnostics paired with hands on clinical judgment
- Clear, jargon free explanations at every step
- Ongoing support so you always know what comes next
We know that a trip to the veterinarian can be stressful for pets and their families alike. Our hospital is designed to feel welcoming rather than clinical, and our team is trained to handle every patient, from the calmest senior cat to the most anxious new puppy, with patience and a gentle touch.
Serving Jacksonville and the Surrounding Communities
From the neighborhoods of Oceanway and New Berlin to the River City Marketplace corridor, and from Yulee across the St. Johns River to the coastal communities near Fort George Island and Big Talbot Island, we are proud to be a dependable veterinary resource for families across Northeast Florida. Supporting our local community, one pet at a time, is at the heart of why Cowford Veterinary Hospital exists.
